EDGEMERE — Police identified a man whose body was found in a trash bag near the beach in Far Rockaway Monday as Jamaica resident Quynton Ross.
The NYPD said Ross had been shot once in the chest and reclassified his death as a homicide, police said Wednesday.
Cops had made the grim discovery just before 10 a.m. after they got a 911 call of a body found on an overgrown stretch of Beach 40th Street between Edgemere Avenue and the shore.
Emergency responders pronounced the 33-year-old victim dead at the scene.
