Former city Councilman Dan Halloran was found guilty Tuesday afternoon at the federal court house in White Plains of all charges on a five-count indictment in his corruption case.
The former northeast Queens representative was convicted by an 11-member jury of pocketing city money from discretionary funding by orchestrating a kick-back scheme with two men who were later revealed to be undercover FBI operatives.
Halloran was also convicted of charges stemming from his involvement in arranging bribes for city GOP chairmen as part of a scheme to win their support for running state Sen. Malcolm Smith (D-St. Albans) on the GOP ticket in the 2013 mayoral race.
The jury took just under 90 minutes to reach a verdict following the eight-week trial. Halloran faces up to 45 years in prison, prosecutors said.
