The motorcyclist critically injured in a Ridgewood accident earlier this month has died, police announced on Tuesday, July 29.
Law enforcement sources identified him as Steven DeLeon, 40, of 62nd Street in Glendale.
DeLeon suffered fatal injuries after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle turning at the corner of Stanhope Street and Onderdonk Avenue at about 4:45 p.m. on July 18.
According to information obtained by police, DeLeon was riding a 2012 Ducati eastbound on Stanhope Street when he was hit by a 2001 Buick Century as it turned from Stanhope Street westbound onto Onderdonk Avenue southbound.
The Buick’s driver, who remained at the scene following the accident, was subsequently summonsed for failing to yield to another vehicle.
Members of the 104th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. Paramedics brought DeLeon to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he later died, police reported.
