After announcing that Dick’s Sporting Goods would be coming to the former Sports Authority location on the Glendale/Forest Hills border, the chain is now hiring for nearly 100 positions at that location.
When the store opens at 73-25 Woodhaven Blvd. this spring, it will be the first Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Queens — and only the second within the five boroughs, with the first opening on Staten Island in 2011. Before they open in March, management will need to fill approximately 100 full-time, part-time and temporary associate positions.
According to Dick’s, the new Glendale location will feature athletic and outdoor apparel and the latest gear for team sports, fitness, camping and fishing. It will also include a new and improved footwear section in order to offer a broad selection of sports performance and casual footwear.
The company is looking for qualified candidates who will draw on their personal experiences and knowledge to help guide, inform and equip customers with the right products. Once hired, associates will benefit from competitive pay, store discounts and the opportunity to work with the best sports and outdoor brands.
To celebrate the opening of their first store in Queens, Dick’s will host a three-day Grand Opening Celebration with a ton of giveaways and special in-store appearances. More information about the grand opening festivities will be available in the weeks leading up to the opening.
