A Long Island Rail Road employee died Saturday morning before 10:30, according to the LIRR press office.
He was hit by “a westbound train and the actual incident happened west of Queens Village,” according to the LIRR representative.
There were no details of what led up to the incident, but members of the National Transportation Safety Board came from Washington, D.C., to take over the ongoing investigation, which was being handled by the MTA police.
The Queens Village station is located at Springfield Boulevard between 219th Street and 97th Avenue, just South of Jamaica Avenue.
