Police are looking for the public’s help in finding a man who allegedly grabbed hold of an 11-year-old boy and threatened to “get him” at a train station on the Ridgewood/Bushwick border earlier this week.
Law enforcement sources said the incident took place at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 26 at the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues station, where the victim was attempting to board a Middle Village-bound M shuttle train.
As he did so, according to authorities, the suspect grabbed the boy by the arm and stopped him. He then told the boy that he was going to get him.
The child managed to free himself from the man’s clutches and ran downstairs to the L train platform, with the suspect following him there. Upon arriving at the L line platform, police said, the boy sought help from a woman, who called police on her cellphone.
The perpetrator then ran back upstairs to the elevated M line and boarded a Middle Village-bound train that departed shortly thereafter.
Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 30s standing described standing 5 foot 10 inches tall and wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. He can be seen in this security camera footage:
