Police are still looking for the driver who shot at someone during a road rage incident in Howard Beach on Monday morning.

According to police, at 10:50 a.m. on April 30, a 36-year-old man was driving his white SUV in the vicinity of Lefferts Boulevard and North Conduit Avenue when he engaged in an argument with the driver of a black Pathfinder.

At some point during the argument, which police described as road rage, the driver of the Pathfinder fired two or three shots with an unknown firearm at the victim’s car, striking the SUV’s driver side door.

Officers from the 106th Precinct responded a short time later to the intersection of Cross Bay Boulevard and 156th Avenue, where the victim’s SUV was located. It’s not clear at this point whether the shooting happened at that specific spot, or somewhere between the intersection and the location where the argument began.

The victim was not hit by any bullets and refused medical attention at the scene.

The New York Post reported that the police detained the victim following the incident because he had an outstanding warrant for a previous summons.

The investigation is ongoing.
