Meet and greet with hundreds of local artists this weekend in Brooklyn.

Greenpoint Open Studios (GOS) is hosting a free weekend of art in order to build, sustain, and support the thriving creative community in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The showcase will highlight over 400 local artists and allow visitors to interact directly with the creators in their space.

The weekend will kick off on Friday, June 1 with a Launch Party at Java Studios, located at 252 Java St. From 7:30 to 11:30 p.m., GOS will host an outdoor reception complete with a gallery show opening, live music and art performances, video screenings and more.

Guests can drink beer provided by Greenpoint Beer & Ale and Hungarian rosé provided by Greenpoint-based importer Palinkerie.

On Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3, over 400 artists will open up their studios across the neighborhood from noon to 6 p.m. each day. Walking tours and free special events will be hosted by local galleries, community organizations and businesses throughout the weekend. If you want to explore the art on your own, you can pick up a free GOS Guide, which contains a map and a schedule of events, and take a self-guided tour.
