Cops need the public’s help in finding a man who punched out a victim who bumped into him while boarding the 7 train in Jackson Heights.
According to police, at 3:50 p.m. on Nov. 26, the 40-year-old male victim was entering a Manhattan-bound 7 train when he bumped into an unknown individual. As the victim tried to apologize, law enforcement sources said, the suspect punched the victim in the face.
The assailant then fled the train at the 90th Street station. Police said that the suspect dropped his phone as he fled.
Officers from the NYPD Transit Bureau responded to the incident. The victim suffered a laceration to the left ear as well as swelling and bruising to his face; he was treated and released from Elmhurst Hospital.
In examining the dropped phone, cops found the suspect’s image on the device and released it on Dec. 10. The NYPD described the perpetrator as a black man standing 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black du-rag, a black jacket and black sneakers.
