Detectives were looking for a gun-toting suspect who they say assaulted and robbed a 54-year-old man during a late-night robbery near the victim’s Flushing home.

On Jan. 2, the 109th Precinct tweeted an image of the suspect behind the Dec. 27 caper, which occurred at 3:21 a.m. in front of a home on Summit Court, a dead-end block off Sanford Avenue.

According to law enforcement sources, the victim was returning home from work when the suspect attacked him from behind. The bandit smacked the man multiple times in the head with his gun, causing facial lacerations and swelling.

At some point during the assault, police said the crook removed $400 in cash from the victim. Moments later, the perpetrator took off on foot westbound on Sanford Avenue.

Police arrived moments later with EMS units, who treated the victim at the scene.

The NYPD described the suspect as a black man standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. In the photo that the 109th Precinct tweeted, the perpetrator is shown wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark-colored jacket, black pants and black sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or the 109th Precinct Detective Squad at 718-321-2294. All calls are kept confidential.
