The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) is informing drivers of upcoming closures of the Exit 6 ramp from westbound Jackie Robinson Parkway to Metropolitan Avenue in Queens.
The closures are set to take place from 12 to 5 a.m. starting Monday morning, Aug. 1, and lasting through Friday morning, Aug. 5, according to the DOT.
To access Metropolitan Avenue during these closures, the DOT is advising drivers to take Exit 4 (Myrtle Avenue/Woodhaven Boulevard) and follow the signed detour.
Inclement weather could lead to rescheduled closures, according to the DOT.
Motorists are urged to drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
The closures are part of the DOT’s $13 million pavement preservation project that is taking place in Queens, Brooklyn and Richmond counties.
