Firefighters extinguished a garage fire that extended to a private residence in Rockaway Park late Thursday night, according to the FDNY.

The FDNY received a call at 9:37 p.m. on April 14 regarding a fire at 125-15 Newport Ave. FDNY responded to the blaze with 12 units consisting of 60 fire personnel and found that the fire, which started in the rear of a one-story garage, had extended to the rear of the two-story private residence.
Units used three hose-lines and extinguished the fire by 10:13 p.m., according to FDNY.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire, the cause of which has yet to be determined, according to FDNY.
