Street repairs in the neighborhoods of Glendale, Maspeth, Middle Village and Ridgewood will begin this month both in the day and night time hours, according to Queens Community Board 5 (CB5).
CB 5 shared the Department of Transportation’s notification of day and night resurfacing in the district, with milling and paving during the night expected to begin as early as Monday, Sept. 11, and day work starting sometime around Thursday, Sept. 14.
According to the DOT, milling allows for paving to begin by removing the top layer of asphalt to from a roadway. Although some streets don’t need to be milled, residents should expect the most noisy conditions on the affected roads and neighborhoods temporarily.
The following areas are scheduled for night resurfacing:
- Cypress Avenue, from south of Myrtle Avenue to Cooper Avenue
- Myrtle Avenue, from east of Decatur Street to Cooper Avenue
- Seneca Avenue, from north of Myrtle Avenue to Menahan Street
- Fresh Pond Road, from south of Flushing Avenue to Metropolitan Avenue
The following areas are scheduled for day resurfacing
- Cypress Avenue, from Myrtle Avenue to Cooper Avenue
- Myrtle Avenue, from Decatur Street to Cooper Avenue
- Seneca Avenue, from Myrtle Avenue to Menahan Street
