Police from the 104th Precinct are searching for the thief who stole a man’s wallet in Ridgewood on Sunday, Oct. 15.
The 54-year-old victim and owner of the wallet told police on Tuesday, Oct. 17, he was inside of Zabka Deli, located at 66-51 Fresh Pond Road, on Oct. 15, when he noticed his wallet had fallen. He picked it up, but later found an unauthorized transaction of $60 on his debit card.
Images shared from the 104th Precinct captured the pickpocket carrying a shopping bag with a blue handle and wearing a black sweater, a grey Abercrombie & Fitch shirt and blue jeans. The man is believed to be between the ages of 35 and 55 years old, police said.

Grand larceny incidents are up by 5.4% over the 28 day period in October, which means there were 59 to 56 reported cases when compared to last year — an additional of 3 thefts of personal property. The 104th Precinct also saw an increase in robbery incidents over the course of 28 days by 27.8%, which represents an increase of 5 more robberies when compared to the same time last year.
