SUV driver sought in attempted kidnapping of teenage girl walking to school in St. Albans: NYPD

A 15-year-old girl was nearly kidnapped while she walked to school in St. Albans on Wednesday, Nov. 15, according to authorities.

Police from the 105th Precinct are on the lookout for the driver of a black SUV who was next to his vehicle at around 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of Francis Lewis Boulevard and 113th Road. He suddenly lunged at the girl and grabbed her and attempted to pull her into the SUV, according to authorities.

The victim was able to break free from his grasp and ran away from the location, police said, and the stranger drove away in the black SUV in an unknown direction.

The girl was not injured during the attempted kidnapping, police said.

The NYPD released a surveillance photo of the SUV and say the suspect is approximately 35 to 45 years old with a light skin complexion, a dark beard., dark hair. He is approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall and was last seen wearing a dark colored puffy winter jacket.
