An R train rider was beaten and robbed at the Woodhaven Boulevard subway station in broad daylight on Saturday afternoon and the three men who attacked him remain at large.
The 42-year-old victim was approached by three strangers at around 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, and struck him with a glass bottle before the trio forcibly snatched his wallet, which contained $300 in cash, police said. His assailants fled the station on a northbound R train on the Queens Boulevard line.
Police from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst and Transit District 20 came to the aid of the wounded rider, who was transported by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspects on Wednesday and described them as having medium complexions with dark hair. One wore a black V-neck T-shirt and white earbuds. The second assailant had a crew cut and wore a light blue and gray hooded sweatshirt, while the third attacker wore a light-colored t-shirt with strange hieroglyphic-like images on the front and black pants.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to their arrest.

Through Aug. 11, the 110th Precinct has reported 321 robberies so far this year, 62 more than the 259 reported at the same point in 2023, an increase of 23.9%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
Assaults are also on the rise in the precinct, with 523 reported so far in 2024, 67 more than the 456 assaults reported at the same point last year, an increase of 14.7%, according to CompStat. The 110th Precinct has reported 31 transit crimes so far this year, matching the same number of transit crimes at the same point in 2023, according to CompStat.
