A construction project on a 47-story mixed-use skyscraper complex at 71-12 Park Ave. in Kew Gardens Hills is set to begin.

Located along Parsons Boulevard, between 71st Avenue and 72nd Avenue and adjacent to the 107th Precinct, the complex will consist of two towers at a shared podium. The complex is expected to span more than 1.1 million square feet.

The complex, known as Utopia Living Luxury Apartments, will have 800 apartments. Marx Development Group is handling the development of this project.

Permits were previously filed for a 50-story tower at this development in 2019 by DSM Design Group. According to that filing, the tower would have been 572 feet tall and consisted of 853 units, 623 parking spaces and 29,946 square feet of community facility space.

The current rendering on Marx Development Group’s site shows glassy towers with multiple volumes alternating in angles, standing on a glass cube podium.

Recently, permits were filed for ground work to begin at the site. Currently, the site is just a vacant lot. The expected completion of this skyscraper complex is listed as December 2028.
