A Bronx man was killed in a horrific crash on the Nassau Expressway near JFK Airport early Wednesday morning.
Police from the 113th Precinct in Jamaica responded to a 911 call about a vehicle collision near Exit 3 on the Nassau Expressway, where they found the 25-year-old motorist had been ejected from his BMW. EMS responded to the scene and rushed the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He was later identified as Andre A. Beadle of Mickel Avenue in the Pelham Gardens section of the Bronx.
Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that Beadle was behind the wheel of a 2023 BMW sedan traveling eastbound on the Nassau Expressway in Springfield Gardens at around 1:12 a.m. He was driving in the left lane at a high rate of speed. Beadle lost control of his vehicle near Exit 3 for North Hangar Road and veered to the right, causing the BMW to travel off the right side of the roadway into the right shoulder, striking a metal pole.
The impact caused the vehicle to veer back across the earthbound lanes to the left shoulder, where it overturned, ejecting Beadle from the vehicle. There were no other injuries reported at the scene.
The investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad remains ongoing.
