The Ridgewood Kiwanis, in collaboration with community organizations and elected officials from across Queens, are hosting a Valentine’s Day donation drive to benefit elderly and disabled veterans at the NYS Veterans Home in St. Albans.

This heartfelt initiative seeks to provide essential items and small comforts to those who have served the country. Donations such as toiletries, sugar-free candy, new underwear, T-shirts, socks, and sweatpants for both men and women are being collected.

Drop-offs can be made at Senator Joseph Addabbo’s District Office at 84-16 Jamaica Ave. in Woodhaven or his Middle Village office at 66-85 73rd Place. Donations will be accepted through February 10.

“Valentine’s Day is a perfect opportunity to show our appreciation and love for the brave men and women who have served our country,” Addabbo said. “I encourage everyone to participate in this initiative, as even the smallest gesture can make a significant impact on our veterans’ lives.”

The drive is also supported by Council Members Joann Ariola and Robert Holden, as well as organizations such as the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 32, Allied Veterans, Post 104, Unit 118 Ladies Auxiliary, Ozone Park Woodhaven Howard Beach Lions, Glendale Property Owners, Ozone Park Block Association, and Woodhaven Block Association.

Additional drop-off locations include:
– Council Member Holden’s Office at 58-38 69th St. in Maspeth
– Council Member Ariola’s Office at 93-06 101st Ave. in Ozone Park
– The Greater Ridgewood Youth Council at 59-03 Summerfield St. in Ridgewood
– Cook’s Crafts at 82-09 Myrtle Ave. in Ridgewood

This community effort serves as a meaningful way to honor and support the veterans who have sacrificed so much.
