The wait is almost over—your favorite foodie festival is back.
The Queens Night Market will officially kick off its milestone 10th anniversary season this Saturday, April 19, with a special ticketed sneak preview night at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
Originally slated to launch with a pair of preview events on April 12 and 19, last week’s opening was postponed due to poor weather conditions. But with clear skies in the forecast this weekend, food lovers can expect a festive and flavorful evening to finally get a first taste of this year’s lineup.
Popular for its affordable pricing and community atmosphere, the Queens Night Market has become a beloved borough tradition since its founding in 2015. To celebrate a decade of culinary diversity and cultural connection, the market released a special tribute video.
The short film takes a nostalgic look back at the market’s early days, showcasing archival footage from its inaugural season, vendor reflections and words of support from elected officials and longtime fans.
“The Queens Night Market through and through is a love letter to New York City,” said founder John Wang in the tribute video, which highlights the event’s journey from a grassroots gathering to one of NYC’s most iconic seasonal traditions.
This year, the market is facing financial headwinds due to inflation and rising costs. Wang recently issued a public appeal to foundations, companies, and philanthropists for sponsorship support. The goal: raise enough funds to waive vendor fees and maintain the beloved $5–$6 price cap that has helped keep the event accessible for families and residents of all income levels.
The official season opening of the Queens Night Market is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, but this weekend’s preview night on April 19 offers guests an early sampling of the international fare, artisanal goods and entertainment that define the event. The ticketed preview also helps raise funds for the upcoming season.
