The NYPD is looking for a man who stole $3,000 from an electronics store in South Richmond Hill last month.
On Sunday, Aug. 2, around 2:45 p.m., an unidentified man walked into the Mobile Plaza NYC store, located at 110-26 Liberty Ave., according to police. The man began to take cash from the store’s register when a 27-year-old employee attempted to stop him, cops said.
The employee grabbed the thief, who turned around and elbowed the Mobile Plaza employee in the face, knocking him to the ground, according to the authorities.
The man then ran out of the store and fled in an unknown direction on foot, having stolen $3,000 in cash, police said. The employee was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center to be treated for cuts in his right eye and left knee.
According to the NYPD, the man is described as being around 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a “Dragon Ball Z” T-shirt, blue jeans, white and black sneakers and an orange baseball hat with the letter “T” on it.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
