Last month Sara Schultz played with some of the best scholastic female hockey players in the state at the Empire State Games in Binghamton. However, the level of play was actually a step down from what she is used to.
That is because the Ridgewood native has played hockey with the boys from the time she took up the sport six years ago. From her beginning in the 104th Precinct Roller Hockey League to playing for the Bishop Ford varsity ice hockey team, Schultz has always been comfortable against the opposite sex.
