Save The Date For Flushings Sixth Lunar Festival

Several notable groups, including the New York Police Department, Crown Waste, and Flushing Hospital plan to offer their services in order to support the popular event. New York Citys finest will provide horses, Crown Waste will provide street cleaning, and the hospital plans to offer a mobile support clinic.
Robert Crupi, M.D., chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Flushing Hospital Medical Center said he wants to promote cooperation between the Asian community and the Hospital.
"We want to get the word out." he said. "Were here to serve the community." The doctor said a mobile unit and medical staff will be on hand to take care of medical emergencies, as well as to distribute information about services available at the Medical Center.
"This is an opportunity to celebrate diversity and the coming together of all communities," he added. The parade is expected to start at the Hong Kong Supermarket on Main St. and will pause at Roosevelt Ave. for commencement of performances and recognition by public officials. The festivities will have an intermission at P.S. 20 on Barclay Ave. where indoor activities will continue with exhibitions, arts and crafts, food, and a tea ceremony.

Henry Tang, executive director of the parade.
