JAMAICA – A 10-year-old boy who was struck by a car March 19 died six days later at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Jamaica, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Tristan Francis of Cambria Heights was on his way to school when he was hit by a 1999 Toyota at 197th Street and 104th Avenue in Hollis, police said.

Hospital spokeswoman Juliet Lewis said the boy was taken off life-support machines last Saturday.

No charges were brought against the driver.

Plane returns to JFK after fire at takeoff

JFK AIRPORT – A fire developed in the engine of a plane shortly after it took off from John F. Kennedy International Airport last Thursday morning, fire officials said.

A United Airlines 767 was forced to shut off one of its engines at 9:15 a.m., said Robert Calise, a spokesman for the department.

The plane landed safely back at JFK at 9:30, Calise said.

Shots fired at manager of Jamaica factory

JAMAICA — A man fired three shots at a factory manager while trying to rob him of $150,000 in payroll money Friday at about 3:20 p.m. outside his 178th Street factory, police said.

The manager continued walking, unhurt and still with the money.

Police were investigating.

Woman, 48, struck by car on Queens Blvd. at Grand Ave.

ELMHURST — A pedestrian was hit by a car at Queens Boulevard and Grand Avenue in Elmhurst and treated for a broken ankle Thursday morning, police said.

The 48-year-old woman was crossing against the light at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, when a car traveling south on Grand Avenue, about to make a left onto Queens Boulevard, yielded to her, police said. The car was rear-ended by a second car and was pushed into the woman, said Carmen Melendez, a police spokeswoman.

The pedestrian was treated at St. John’s Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, Melendez said.

No summonses were issued.

Young woman found dead in 114th Street home

SOUTH OZONE PARK – A 17-year-old woman was found dead, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in South Ozone Park last Thursday, police said.

Police found the woman inside a home at 135-11 114 St. at about 3:55 p.m. and recovered a 42-caliber handgun, said Carmen Melendez, a police spokeswoman.

3 arrested in Richmond Hill unloading stolen car: Police

RICHMOND HILL — Police spotted three people at 74-09 97th Ave. about 4 a.m. Friday unloading electronics from a vehicle that was reported stolen the night before, police said.

When police approached the three, they ran into a house at 74-09 97th Ave. Police entered the house and arrested two men, said Detective Theresa Forello, a police spokeswoman.

Officers saw two handguns and a machine gun in the house, and placed a woman under arrest, Forello said.

Property was recovered from the apartment that was related to a series of push-in robberies in the 105th Precinct, the detective said.

Two Forest Hills banks robbed within 20 minutes

FOREST HILLS — A man entered the EAB bank at 85-15 Queens Blvd., displayed a gun and demanded money at about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

The gunman fled with about $3,400 in cash, said Detective Eugene Canapi, a police spokesman.

About 20 minutes later, a man entered the Dime Savings Bank at 106-11 71st Ave., displayed a gun and demanded money, police said. The gunman fled with an undetermined amount of cash, Canapi said.

Police did not say whether they believed the two robberies were by the same man.

No one was hurt in either incident, Canapi said.

24-year-old woman raped in LIC apartment building

LONG ISLAND CITY – A 24-year-old woman was raped and robbed in her building near 41st Avenue in Long Island City last Thursday night, police said.

A man in his 20s followed the victim into an elevator, pulled her out on the sixth floor and raped her, said Carmen Melendez, a spokeswoman for the police department.

The man also took the woman’s watch, valued at about $1,200, and $12 in cash, Melendez said.

The man fled the building .

Police were investigating.

2 gunmen take $250 in cash from Richmond Hill gas station

RICHMOND HILL — Two men armed with guns entered the Sunoco gas station at 88-4 101st Ave. about 3 a.m. Monday and demanded money, police said.

The gunmen fled with $250 in cash, said police spokesman Jerry Varson.

No one was hurt, he said.

44-year-old stabbed in chest on 12th Street

LONG ISLAND CITY — A 44-year-old man was stabbed in the chest by an assailant at 40-01 12th St. at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

Police said the motive may have stemmed from a dispute.

Two gunmen take $150,000 from Grand Ave. bingo parlor

MASPETH — Two men wearing masks entered a Grand Avenue bingo hall, approached a cashier with guns and demanded money at about 8 p.m. Friday, police said.

The men fled the parlor at 69-20 Grand Ave. with $1,500 in cash, said Detective Carolyn Chew.

No one was hurt, Chew said.

Police were investigating.

Infant baby girl found dead in Ozone Park

OZONE PARK — A six-week-old baby girl was found dead at 104-62 107th St. in Ozone Park at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, police said

The medical examiner is to determine the infant’s cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, said officer Louis Cruz, a police spokesman.

Ridgewood woman charged with killing her husband

RIDGEWOOD — Guiseppina Guidici, 28, allegedly fatally shot her husband three times with a .380 handgun following a domestic dispute at 90-15 81st Rd. at 11:53 p.m. last Thursday, police said.

The victim, Joseph Guidici, 37, was found dead at the scene, said Detective Theresa Farello, a police spokeswoman.

Guidici was charged with murder in the second degree and possession of a weapon, said Mary de Bourbon, a spokeswoman for the Queens district attorney.

Guidici was being held on $500,000 bail, de Bourbon said.
