New Medical Technology At Flushing Hospital Medical Center

Technology at Flushing Hospital just improved immensely and patients at the medical facility will reap the benefits.
A new and advanced medical procedure called the GE Advantx LCA Plus and the GE Advantx Interventional Special Room were introduced by the hospital, and will be used to treat a variety of patient conditions and complications associated with blood vessel disorders, diabetes, hypertension, dialysis, cancer and gynecological disorders.
The new GE Advantx Interventional room will be used to save limbs and organs without having the patient undergo surgical removal or repair. According to Flushing Hospital, the procedures will enable the patient to return home the same day they entered with little or no pain or discomfort.
The new equipment will allow doctors to pinpoint the location of blood vessel blockages and to guide the placement of the balloon during angioplasty. It can also be used to study other types of vessel and organ pathology in other anatomical areas, such as the kidney and brain.
The machine also has 3D imaging capability. In this procedure, an X-ray tube circles around the patient, collects images and then automatically reconstructs them into three dimensional format. The physician can then manipulate and rotate them 360 degrees on the computer screen, helping them to see every detail and complicated pathway.
In a statement, Flushing Hospital said that their "new medical installment is an advancement for both patient and doctor, because the more accurately the problem is diagnosed, the more successful treatment is likely to be."
