McLaughlin To SAAPAC: ‘Participate!'

At a recent breakfast gathering of the South Asian-American Political Action Committee  (SAAPAC), an organization that encourages civic participation among members of the South Asian community, guest speaker Brian McLaughlin, Assemblyman and President of the New York City Central Labor Council, told the audience: “All Americans have been ‘New Americans’ at some point. And, just like my grandfather who came here from Ireland years ago, all are seeking a better life for their children. The best way to make the ‘American Dream’ come true is to get involved. Participate! Become part of the political process. Adding your own unique cultural imprint strengthens the fabric of our society, from which everyone benefits.”
