MLHS Recognizes Alumni With Prestigious Award

Martin Luther High School recently honored three graduates with the Alumni of the Year Award.
Nicola Buchanan has been an MLHS alumna for only 10 years, but she has already had quite an impact on those she serves on a daily basis, specifically her patients and physicians at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Mark Chaves a 1978 graduate of MLHS went on to complete a Masters degree at Harvard University and is currently a Professor and Head of the Sociology Department at the University of Arizona.
Finally, Rev. Laurie Cline, a 1969 MLHS graduate currently serves as Pastor of Saint John Lutheran Church in Bellmore and vacancy Pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniondale. She also shares her time with many community groups throughout the area.
