2nd Defendant Sentenced In Murder Of Restaurant Worker

William Capehart, the second defendant convicted in the brutal murder of Huang Chen, has received the maximum sentence of just over 51 years in prison at State Supreme Court.
On January 24, Capehart had been convicted on all counts, including murder, robbery, gang assault, and tampering with evidence.
The jury had returned the verdict after less than four hours of deliberation.
The first defendant in the killing, Charles Bryant, was convicted and sentenced on May 19, 2005 to the maximum 52 years in prison.
A third defendant, Nayquan Miller, pleaded guilty on July 19, 2005 to killing Huang Chen and is expected to be sentenced next month.
“It has been two years and ten days since my only brother Huang Chen was mercilessly murdered,” said Yvonne Chen, Huang’s sister. “The process has been too long and we have waited for this day too long. It was painful to sit in the courtroom, going through every hearing and trial, and listen to how three animals brutally beat my brother to death. Neither the murderers’ lives nor our tears will bring Huang back to us. Now, it’s time to see justice being served.”
Huang Chen was an 18-year old restaurant worker when he was brutally killed while making a delivery from his family’s restaurant on February 13, 2004.
