Airport jobs program expanding

Job recruitment and placement services for Queens residents at the JFK and LaGuardia airports are being actively conducted by the Council for Airport Opportunity (CAO), it was announced by the Port Authority (PA).
The program placed nearly 700 local job hunters last year, and is currently being funded by a $1.6 million Port Authority grant. The airport jobs included management, aircraft maintenance, ground operations, flight attendants, food services, and passenger services.
Now in its fourth decade, the CAO has assisted thousands of local minority and disadvantaged residents living near the Queens airports in gaining employment by utilizing an extensive applicant review system.
Calling it, “a job placement program that clearly works,” Queens Borough President Helen Marshall praised the plan as “an investment in the future of area residents who share their neighborhoods with some of the world’s busiest airports.”
Job applicants should contact Mr. Morris Lee at (718) 523-7100.
