Police investigate the scene where an 88-year-old woman was killed by an 18-wheeler at the corner of Metropolitan Ave. and 70th Road in Forest Hills. The body of the victim, Mildred Girardin, lays in the foreground, covered by a gray cloth. The driver of the truck was stopped a few blocks from the scene and issued two summonses for equipment violations. He was later released.
