Free puppet show in Flushing

The Queens Historical Society will host the City Parks Foundation's (CPF) presentation of &#8220The Princess, The Emperor and The Duck” as a part of CPF's free CityParks Kids 2006 season lineup in Queens, along with a puppeteer workshop shortly afterwards.
This traveling puppet show and workshop from Central Park's acclaimed Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater will visit Flushing's Weeping Beech Park, located at Bowne Street and 37th Avenue, on Sunday, August 13 at noon. For more information, call Mitchell Grubler at 718-939-0647, Ext. 18.
The production of &#8220The Princess, the Emperor and the Duck,” an adaptation of three classic fairytales by Hans Christian Andersen, is set in Africa, China and Central Park.
It is one of the few traveling puppet theaters in the country, brings productions and puppet making workshops to all corners of New York City, free of charge, from the puppeteers of the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater in Central Park.
A program of City Parks Foundation, CityParks Kids will be presenting many more puppet shows, in addition to dance, theater, music and storytelling for kids in parks throughout the five boroughs this summer. For more information about all these programs, check out www.CityParksFoundation.org.
