Salgado, 18, of Glen Oaks graduated from Mary Louis Academy in Jamaica Estates. She will attend New York University (NYU) in the fall, as a business major.
&#8220I am very excited to receive the scholarship. &#8220NYU is very expensive, anything I am able to get will be helpful for me and my parents,” Salgado said.
Time Warner has awarded more than $275,000 to local college-bound students, since the inception of the scholarship program in 2000. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, community involvement and academic performance.
