Woman gets stop signs

Assemblymember Mark Weprin is pleased to have assisted longtime Fresh Meadows resident Lillian Ptucha in her ten-year drive to have all-way stop signs installed at the intersection of 50th Avenue and 188th Street. The Department of Transportation positioned two additional signs on 188th Street, giving the intersection full cover. &#8220The approach to the intersection on 50th Avenue was blind and dangerous,” Ptucha said. &#8220There was a long history of traffic accidents at the intersection,” Weprin said, adding, &#8220The new stop signs are going to save lives.”
