Awards Night For Little League

The St. Albans/Jamaica Little League held its annual awards ceremony at the Presbyterian Church of St. Albans where they gave out trophies to all the children who participated and a special award to Councilmember Leroy Comrie for his support of the team.
The St. Albans/Jamaica Little League has been around for thirty years. Currently, they have 150 kids in their league, both boys and girls from ages 4 to 16. 
The team practices in the field which runs alongside Roy Wilkins Park. 
Thanks to the $100,000 Comrie was able to obtain in capital budget funds for upgrading the field, they will be paving a parking facility so the parents can park their cars. They will be paving all the dirt and gravel walkways which lead to the field as well as resodding the field with new dirt and clay. They are also getting a new scoreboard for the field, and installing comfortable bleachers for the parents.
