Frederick Oberkirch Sr.

Frederick P. Oberkirch Sr., formerly of Bayside, passed away on November 15. He was 79 years old.
Oberkirch, the son of the late Frederick and Hilda, graduated from Bayside High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He married his wife Rebecca in 1948.
Professionally, he served as vice president of Citibank.
Ever civic-minded, Oberkirch was active in his Bayside church.
He and his family relocated to Vermont in 1976, where he lived out the rest of his days.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years; daughter Susan and her husband Joseph Monaco; his son Rick and his wife Debbie; his daughter Wendy and her husband Karl Fjeld; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two brothers. He is pre-deceased by his son Bruce.
