Yovanni Rivera, 17 of 54th Avenue in Corona was charged with the robbery and murder of Carlos Flores, 40, of Ridgewood, whose body was found Dec. 5 in a pond in the Flushing Meadows Corona Park, prosecutors said. Flores had been killed with a machete, they said.
Rivera and Marcos Polanco, 17, of 43rd Avenue in Corona, were also charged in for four separate robberies that left a 33-year-old in a coma, prosecutors said.
They both were being held pending arraignment Friday and could face up to 25 years to life if convicted, prosecutors said.
