Fight cancer: get Mets ticket

Relay For Life, a program of the American Cancer Society (ACS), is a fun-filled fund-raising event designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer in our community. The New York Mets will host this year’s event on Saturday, May 5, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Shea Stadium. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m.
During the event, sponsored teams of people gather in the picnic area at the Stadium and take turns walking or running laps around the warning track. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
Relay at Shea will begin with a “Survivors Lap” and will feature a “Luminaria” candle ceremony and family-style fun and games. All registered participants will receive a free ticket to an upcoming Mets game.
