Courier Extra gets ‘A+’ in audit

The Courier Extra, a free weekly paper delivered to 20,000 Bayside homes gets high marks for delivery and readership, a recent survey shows.
The results of the survey of eligible adults of residential households conducted by Certified Audit of Circulations, (CAC) the official national auditor of weekly newspaper distribution, found that 70 percent of readers keep their issue all week until the next issue arrives.
Additionally, over 97 percent of households in the delivery area are regularly receiving their copy. The paper is delivered in a white plastic bag, along with sales circulars.
The Courier Extra is a grassroots publication that focuses on news and happenings in and around Bayside.
The CAC survey also reported that 60 percent of respondents read every issue and 56 percent said that they patronize the businesses that advertise in The Courier Extra.
The survey was based on the zip codes 11360, 11361 and 11364, where The Courier Extra is distributed. CAC says their figures have a 95 percent confidence rate, a statistical measure of high accuracy. The margin of error for readership is plus or minus 1.6 percent.
