Sean Bell cops try to gain backing for claim that force was justified

The three cops charged in the fatal shooting of Sean Bell were at Queens Criminal Court on Monday, May 14 to ask prosecutors to turn over the grand jury testimony to the two officers not charged — Paul Headley and Michael Carey — to gain support for their claim that their use of force was justified.
Detective Mike Oliver and undercover Detective Gescard F. Isnora were each indicted on first- and second-degree manslaughter charges for the November 25, 2006 death of Sean Bell as well as assault for the wounding of Bell’s friends, Trent Benefield and Joseph Guzman.
Detective Marc Cooper faces the misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment.
All three are free pending trail.
