Captain John J. Mayer

Captain John J. Mayer of Howard Beach passed away recently.
He was a proud WW II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, Third Infantry Division; he was a Silver Star and Purple Heart recipient.
Beloved husband of the late Rena. Cherished father of Maryanne, John, Thomas, Susan, Judy, Richard and Phillip. Loving grandpa of 17 and great-grandpa of one.
Interment was at L. I. National Cemetery in Pinelawn. In lieu of flowers, donations to the L. I. State Veterans Home, 100 Patriots Road, Stony Brook, NY 11790 would be appreciated.
