Kids and cops picnic

About 400 kids got a chance to explore the New York Hall of Science recently as part of the New York Police Department’s (NYPD) “Harmony Picnic.” The event, which had originally been scheduled for Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, was moved indoors because of scattered showers throughout the afternoon on Friday, August 10. On hand for the picnic were Patrol Borough Queens North Chief Diana Pizzuti (center), clowns from Verizon’s Pioneer Clown Unit, and McGruff, the crime-fighting dog. Pizzuti posed for pictures with the kids from the Booker T. Washington Beacon Program 34 in Manhattan.
