Uniformed officers were on patrol on Thursday, November 29 when they observed and arrested a suspect in possession of firearms.
Officers Francisco Ponce and Michael Grimm were on the beat at 97th Place and 57th Avenue when they saw a male tossing a gun.
A foot pursuit ensued and the suspect, Clarke Namdi, 33, pulled out a second firearm and fired once. No one was struck, and the suspect was apprehended on the scene.
Two loaded guns were recovered — a .25 caliber and a .32 caliber.
Charges are currently pending against the suspect.
