Edward H. Jawin

Edward H. Jawin passed away on January 14 at his home in Douglaston.
Husband of Ann Juliano Jawin. Father of Ronald and Paul Jawin and grandfather of Alexandra, Rachel, Erica and Tom Jawin.
He served in the Armed Forces during WWII, fighting in the Campaign of Normandy and earning two Bronze Battle Stars.
A graduate of Trinity College in CT, Jawin earned an MBA from New York University.
Specializing in the areas of marketing and training, he worked for major corporations such as Western Union, Ford Motor Corp. and Food Fair Industries. He retired from the New York State Department of Labor.
Jawin was one of the founding members of the DougBay Manor Civic Association. He worked continuously for the community’s needs for roads and sewers.
He had a strong interest in playwriting and was a member of a number of professional playwriting groups. He also kept up an interest in stamps and his coin collection.
