What started out as a temp job turned into nearly 23 years of dedicated community service for one local resident.

In the summer of 1985, Winnie Waters accepted a temporary position at Community Board 12, filling in for a good friend who was out on maternity leave.

To her surprise, her friend became a full-time mom and she became a full-time CB 12 employee.

The next couple of decades were history.
