Texas Farm Division
On Sunday afternoon, Turano Contracting took on the powerhouse Officefurniture.net in a see saw battle.
Turano Contracting was led by the outstanding defense of Gianmarco Damiani and Theodore Pigis. They put on a show with their sparkling defense. In the third inning, with Officefurniture.net threatning to blow the game open, Gianmarco Damiani charged a slow roller and raced back to third, diving to reach the bag just ahead of the runner for a force out.
With the bases loaded in the fourth inning, Theodore Pigis made an acrobatic catch at third to stall a rally at a crucial juncture in the game.
The offensive catalysts for Turano Contracting were Christian Spallino and Anthony Autera. Christian Spallino sparyed the ball all over the field and showed great bat control by coming through in the clutch with some good situational hitting.
Anthony Autera was a pesky thorn in the side of Officefurniture.net all day by using his speed to get a couple of infield hits and keep some key drives alive for Turano Contracting.
Alpha Produce vs. Pee Wee Folks Preschool
In a back and forth game between Alpha Produce and Pee Wee Folks Preschool, the defense finally decided the outcome. For Pee Wee Folks, game balls went to Bryan Reinah for an unassisted double play and Patrick Hennessy for two stellar plays at first.
Minor Division
In a hard fought game, FHM Mortgage defeated Mattone, 7-0, Saturday. The game was scoreless going into the fifth, thanks to great pitching on the part of Frankie Moreno, who tossed three shutout innings, followed by two more from Anthony Castagliola. The star of the game was Daniel Rabb, who played stellar defense, even turning an unassisted double play to keep the game scoreless.
Major Division
Officefurniture.net beats Bayside Salamaria, 14-3, Sunday to improve to 3-0 on the season. Officefurniture.net was led by outstanding performances on the mound by Seanie Cunningham and Moe Abdelrahman. James Callahan smacked a triple, followed up by doubles by Austin Lee and Christopher Matiatos.
On April 14 at Valle East, Officefurniture.net beats Donovan Electric, 9-1. Officefurniture.net had some terrific performances at bat with Nick Stamoulis, Kevin Larrera, Austin Lee and Stephen Tsamblakos with perfect pitching by James Callahan and Anthony Tersigni.
