Cure for parking ills at LIJ

Surrounded by staff from Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center, North Shore-LIJ Health System President and CEO Michael Dowling and Chairman Saul Katz, (right of center, holding scissors) cut the ribbon on LIJ’s new employee parking garage. The seven-story 1,100-car staff garage, located on the north side of their campus, frees up 975 parking spaces for patients and visitors in the public garage near LIJ’s main entrance off Lakeville Road. The employee garage, which cost $29 million, was sorely needed to make parking easier for patients and visitors, and to reduce parking pain and traffic congestion in the neighborhoods surrounding the LIJ Medical Center campus.
