Gunman Arrested Long After Alleged Crime

Juan Velasquez, 29, was arrested on June 15 — nearly five months after he allegedly robbed an 18-year-old man.
The victim fortuitously spotted Velasquez sleeping on a park bench and summoned cops to make the arrest. He said Velasquez came up behind him on January 20 and said “Don’t move fat boy.” The victim gave up $300 from his wallet and the attacker also allegedly snatched the chain from his neck.
Velasquez has been charged with robbery and possession of stolen property.
