Fight breast cancer with ribbon bagels

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Panera Bread will have unique “Pink Ribbon Bagels” at its bakery cafe in Long Island City and those in Staten Island and on Long Island through the month of October. The pink initiative will help to raise dollars to support the efforts of the Greater NYC Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Panera Bread’s ribbon-shaped bagels, with their wholesome cranberries and cherry chips, put a special, fresh-baked twist on fundraising. During October, a portion of all Pink Ribbon Bagel purchases made at Panera will be donated to Komen Greater NYC, which serves the five boroughs and Long Island.
Last year, the sale of Pink Ribbon Bagels raised over $11,000 locally to support research, awareness, education and outreach programs.
This year, Panera hopes to dramatically top that dollar amount by reaching out to businesses, large and small, encouraging them to cater staff breakfasts from Panera. Every Pink Ribbon Bagel Pack (13 bagels and two tubs of spreads) sold in October adds $3.25 to helping find a cure, while Panera will be donating 25 cents from the sale of each individual Pink Ribbon Bagel that month as well.
You can find Pink Ribbon Bagels at Panera Bread bakery-cafes in Staten Island and Long Island as well as in the Long Island City location starting in September.
