Quantcast

One proud ‘mummy’

The Pumpkin Festival 2008 was held in Central Park on Saturday October 25. To celebrate the spirit of Halloween and creative expression, the Parks Department hosted its first citywide scarecrow competition. It was open to all New York City elementary and middle schools with first, second and third place prizes to the best scarecrow designs. The scarecrows were placed on display at the world famous Bethesda Fountain in Central Park.
The sixth grade Social Studies classes at Immaculate Conception School in Jamaica Estates won First Place with their unique Scarecrow Mummy design.
