message from the general manager: New Website

“The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow.”
-Bill Gates

There’s no doubt that today’s technology is making the world a smaller place. For years, television has brought the news of the world into our homes, making it seem as if events happening half a world away were only half a mile away. Today, with the proliferation of home computers and portable devices such as laptops, blackberries and even cell phones that can access the Internet, the network of our world can literally be carried in one’s pocket. While it has the power of bringing continents closer together by way of instant news access, it certainly has the potential of bringing communities together by way of simple information sharing.
Through the committed efforts of your Board of Directors, particularly Board Member Phyllis Goldstein and members of the Publicity, Public Relations and Marketing Committee, our community website, www.northshoretowers.com, has recently been updated and improved. The goal of the website is twofold; to provide current, useful information that directly affects our residents, and to optimize exposure of the wonderful and unique aspects of our community to those people who may wish to learn more and possibly become a resident themselves. One recent on-going improvement is the search engine optimization of the website, which helps the position of the site to rank high on search engines, such as Google and Yahoo, with key phrases such as luxury apartments, golf or any of the many amenities that North Shore Towers has to offer. North Shore Towers and Country Club will not remain the best kept secret in the tri-state area forever!
Everyone can access our website without having to log-in. In order for our residents to take full advantage of all of the features our website has to offer, you must create a personal account so that you may log in to the “Resident’s Only” section of the site. Once you have entered the website address, northshoretowers.com, and are on the site’s homepage, click on “Resident Login” on the top right hand side of the page under the North Shore Towers logo, which will bring you to a log-in page. Click on “New Registration”, and a second log-in page will require you to enter your name, email address, apartment number and a password of your own creation. Subsequent visits to the site will only require that you log-in with your email address and password. Kindly be assured that your information will be for the use of North Shore Towers Apartments Incorporated only and will not be shared or used for any other purpose.
As a registered resident website user, you will have access to many convenient features that will enhance your experience as a member of the Country Club as well as a member of the North Shore Towers community in general. From the comfort of your apartment (or anywhere you have internet access), you will have the ability to view golf and tennis starting times, our Towers Movie Theater schedule and the aerobics schedule, or even view the entire video from the most recent Open Country Club Meeting. Recently added to the website is the ability to view meetings and special events on your computer, just as you would view them on our in-house television channel. Currently the video from Mayor Bloomberg’s visit to North Shore Towers on October 12, 2008 is available. If you were unable to attend either of these meetings, this is a great opportunity for you to stay informed on the important issues affecting you and your community. I believe our snowbird residents will find this particularly helpful during the months when they are away from their northern home.
Management intends to continue updating our website on a regular basis so that all available information remains current.
So no matter where you find yourself in the “global village,” our North Shore Towers website can be your “town square” source of local information.
On behalf of everyone who works at North Shore Towers and Country Club I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone and their family a very Healthy and Happy Thanksgiving. Those of you who live and work here have much to be thankful for.
